Deborah Allon

Deborah joined the group in October 2016, appointed to the new post of: QTool Business Development Manager. Prior to this, Deborah worked in central IT at the University of Leeds, performing a wide range of support duties for the Applications Software team, especially for Mathematics and Statistics software, survey tools such as Bristol Online Surveys (BOS), and website maintenance.  Prior to the support role, Deborah worked as a SAS developer from 1996 for 6 years, also in IT at the University, liasing with the Leukaemia Research Fund and the Paediatric Epidemiology group to develop an application in SAS to perform descriptive epidemiology.

Deborah has a degree in Microbiology from the University of Leeds, and after a brief spell working as a Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in the Diagnostic Mycology lab, she retrained in IT gaining a Masters in Computer-based Information Systems from the University of Sunderland.  Her first role in IT was at the University of Manchester, in the Pharmacy Dept., developing computer-aided learning materials for the Pharmacy Consortium for Computer-aided Learning (PCCAL).
