Research Assistant

Email: [email protected]

Chloe joined the Patient Outcomes Group in April 2026 as a Research Assistant on the BE SPeCiAL (Brain tumours: Enhancing Supportive and Palliative Care in patients And Loved ones) project, which aims to improve support services for patients with brain tumours, and their carers, and then find out what they think about the improved services.

Before joining the group Chloe acquired her PhD in sport and exercise psychology which centred around stress, understanding how individuals experience stressors and coping from an interpersonal perspective. Following her PhD, Chloe assisted on numerous projects within sport, exercise, and health contexts. Some examples include:

  • A project funded by The Brain Tumour Charity which aims to understand the existing evidence and individual’s thoughts on non-pharmacological interventions among those living beyond a paediatric brain tumour.
  • Collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency Taskforce to understand people’s perceptions of unintentional doping in sport to help inform policy and future avenues for research.
  • A project exploring the lived experiences of individuals with cystic fibrosis and their cancer diagnosis, aiming to guide healthcare professionals in developing tailored support strategies and treatment plans that address the unique challenges of managing both chronic illnesses.

Research Interests

Chloe’s research interests include stress, quality of life, interpersonal relationships, and non-pharmacological interventions in relation to sport, exercise, and health. She is adept in both qualitative and quantitative research designs, recognising the importance of achieving both breadth and depth in high-quality research. Through this work, she aims to bridge rigorous research with meaningful, real-world impact.
