Ning joined the group in November 2025 as part of the EORTC Strategy project, which aims to develop and agree on a set of criteria defining good-quality Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) for use in cancer clinical trials, ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders are addressed.

Before joining the group, Ning worked on several health science projects involving diverse and underserved populations. These included:

  • A project addressing depression in Muslim communities in Bradford, evaluating the efficacy and implementation of a culturally adapted treatment.
  • A project optimising a digital health approach to support continuity of palliative care for refugee populations in Uganda.
  • A project exploring the lived experiences and cognitive impacts of long COVID in the UK, focusing on how neural, environmental, and individual factors influence wellbeing.

Ning has an academic background in psychology. She completed her PhD at the University of Leeds, where she examined mental health stigma among Chinese young people and developed a culturally acceptable anti-stigma intervention. She also holds an MSc in Mental Health from Queen Mary University of London, an MEd in the Psychology of Education from the University of Bristol, and a BSc in Psychology from China.
