I am currently working on a project about patient perspectives regarding treatment for prostate cancer, and I am a sociologist with an interest in the lived experience of illness and in the delivery and reception of health care. I’ve interviewed people regarding life with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, rheumatoid arthritis, and other long-term conditions, and am interested in how the provision of healthcare and interventions that aim to deliver care are experienced by patients and clinicians. I also work part-time at the University of Manchester researching primary care. Whenever funding allows, I work with an animator/illustrator to create outputs from my research that help explain and explore research findings using words, imagery and sound design.
