I currently work on a study funded by the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). The EORTC Item Library study aims to assess symptomatic patient-reported adverse events (AEs). I am involved in recruitment and data collection from participants regarding new items that are being developed for missing adverse events from the library.

I am a co-facilitator for the PCOR Research Advisory Group (RAG). This group meets quarterly to provide a patient, carer or public perspective on developing and ongoing studies within the research team. https://pcor.org.uk/research-advisory-group/

Previous appointments:

My first appointment with the PCOR group was to work on the Bereaved carers’ perceptions of end-of-life experiences of primary brain tumour patients study. This was a mixed-methods study that explored the end-of-life experiences from the carers perspective.

I have worked on several studies as a research officer based in Leeds Institute of Health Sciences. These studies have been with various populations such as Muslims with depression; adults with type-2 diabetes and a learning disability; and older adults with sub-threshold depression.

My PhD research consisted of three studies and investigated the self-perception of emotion in individuals with non-epileptic seizures (University of Leeds, 2023).
